Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?

Acute non-lymphocytic leukaemia. Carcinoma of breast. Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Chronic myelogenous leukaemia.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Myelosuppression. Severe cardiac, hepatic or renal disfunction. Multiple sclerosis. Pregnancy, lactation and children.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Prior radiotherapy or anthracycline therapy. Concomitant cytotoxic therapy.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Dyspnoea, arrhythmia, oedema, ECG , fatigue, fever, headache, alopecia, nail bed changes, amenorrhoea, hyperglycaemia, anorexia, bleeding, mucositis, stomatitis, dyspepsia, fungal infection. Myelosuppression, cardiotoxicity.
